The three rounds of the Youth World Finals were held this past week during the NYCHA Youth Week along with so many fun activities, a clinic, a concert, some fantastic cutting, and of course lots of fun with friends!

The first round winner in the Junior Youth was Charles Russel Bushaw riding Peptotoodie (Peptotime x Too Smart Toodie) marking a 225!

Co Reserve Champions were Charles Russel’s brother Will Bushaw riding Smooth As A Twist (Smooth As A Cat x LB MS Cowtown Twist) and Faith Farris riding Quite The Fat Cat (Mr Peppy Freckles x Quite The Cat) both marking a 220.

The second round was just as exciting and full of more big scores! In the Junior Youth it was Jade Mitchell riding Junie Wood (Nitas Wood x Tuffs Junie) marking a 224 that came out with the win.

In the final round we saw some familiar faces on top again. Charles Russell Bushaw and his great mare Peptotoodie prevailed making a 221.5 allowing him to finish second in the average.

Reserve Champion was Jade Mitchell riding Junie Wood marking a 220, which clinched the title of Show Champion for this pair!

Lance Cooper and Light N Lily went three for three sweeping the Senior Youth finals this time marking another 227! He and this special mare were the World Finals Show Champion in the Senior Youth.

Reserve Champion was Alyssa Dvorak riding PRF Bobby Whitesock (High Brow Cat x PRF Shesa Sterling) first out in the round marking a stellar 223!

The 2017 World Champions are officially named as of last night’s round! In the Junior Youth it was Ryann Packard who rode multiple horses throughout the year to achieve this goal but showed Sir Sylish Lizzy (Lizzys Gotta Player x Stylish Sharron) in the World Finals. She had a grand total of 177 points for the year!

Ryan Rapp finished the year as the Senior Youth World Champion with a total of 190 points for the year! He went down the road all year long with multiple horses but for this show he rode his mom’s horse Im Reydioactive (Dual Rey x Kaboomsmal).

Congratulations to all of the World Finalists on this amazing accomplishment from everyone here at Cutting Horse Central.
