Kobie Wood and Cool N Hot Claim Super Stakes Championship!

Champions Kobie Wood and Cool N Hot

It has been one for the record books for the Wood family and their incredible stallion Cool N Hot (Hottish x Donas Cool Cat). "Trigger" qualified for not only the Open Finals at the 2018 NCHA Super Stakes but the Derby Non-Pro Division as well with Kobie's wife Paula. There are not many families more deserving of this kind of success.

Kobie Wood and Cool N Hot

Kobie Wood is one of the legends within the industry having amassed in excess of $5 million dollars in the show pen riding horses such as Cash Quixote Rio, Meradas Little Sue, Boon Too Suen, and Donas Cool Cat just to name a few! He is known for many different things a hard worker, a trainer, a horseman, a family man, and an all-around good person. One of the things we are one hundred percent sure of though, you can never count him out in a finals! There have been many times we have all seen Kobie peel one cow from the top of the herd with 40 seconds left because well, that's the "Kobie Wood Way" of doing things! Go big or go home! It is impressive to say the least and gets everyone's attention. This year however is very different, this year he has this incredible stallion to top it off.

Champion Interview with CHTO:

His run last night gave the crowd chills, especially after when it meant so much to Kobie and his family who had been cheering for him. They are some of the best cheerleaders around! We all knew exactly where the Wood section was in the arena until the run got really going then all the sudden the entire arena was the Wood section. The run allowed them to add the hefty $69,076 Champion's check to Trigger's already impressive show season!

An emotional moment for the whole Wood family!

This win also marks the second Triple Crown show being won by a baby by Hottish adding to his unbelievable first foal crop success! Congratulations to Dustin and Deena Adams once again for this dream come true start to their stallion's career!

Reserve Champions Beau Galyean and Rollz Royce

Reserve Champion was Beau Galyean riding Rollz Royce (Dual Smart Rey x Show Biz Kitty) marking a 222.5 to collect the $60,476 check for owner Thomas Guinn. Beau has had a fantastic show having already claimed the Class Open Championship! He has quite the lineup of performers right now and taking in every moment of it! "Royce" was also the Novice Division Champion adding another title to his accomplishments.
