2017 CHC Cutting Club Free Youth Clinic
Author: Mark Michels
Cutting Horse Central is proud to once again be hosting the CHC Cutting Club Youth Clinic on July 24th to kick off the start of NYCHA Youth Week and the NCHA Summer Spectacular. Last year’s clinic was a big success and this year is shaping up to be even bigger and better.
The clinic is FREE to all NYCHA members and will start with a judging seminar hosted by NCHA’s Director of judging Russell McCord who will go over some of the rules and how a cutting run is judged. This will be followed up with some showmanship tips from NCHA Hall Of Fame Leading Riders Lindy Burch and Phil Rapp. The kids will then be given judges cards and put their knowledge to the test as they judge some live cutting runs and discuss the results.
A free lunch will be provided by Mamma Monica’s Authentic Italian Restaurant before the kids will be invited to saddle their horses and get coached by some NCHA’s top trainers and Non Pro’s as they practice their cuts and learn how to work the flag. There will be random prize give aways throughout the day thanks to our friends at Classic Equine.
Registration starts at 9am and kids are asked to wear Western Attire for this event. Chaps can be worn for the afternoon session when horseback. If you don’t have a horse you are invited to stay and watch from the stands and learn as the kids get coached.
