Cooper and Good put Together a Standout Performance

The exciting final week of the 2017 NCHA Futurity has begun in Fort Worth, Texas! There are sales, semifinals, finals, and so many other things to look forward to in between. That being said we want to recognize our first Champions of the week! Lance Cooper riding Zen And Tonic (High Brow CD x Dual Citizen) along with Ali Good riding Sneakish (Hottish x Smooth Sneakin) both marked a 222 to take home the Co-Championship along with each receiving a $10,539 check. We have enjoyed watching these two talented riders grow up in the industry and develop as showmen, and they are hard to beat when given the real chance to shine.

Ali Good and Sneakish

When speaking with both Lance and Ali they were so grateful for the opportunity to show and to show in the “big pen” is always a highlight for anyone. They had a similar story as well just wanting to show the best that they could and set their horses up for success. Lance acquired his mare “Snickers” not long ago and it fit from the very beginning. She got better and better as she was prepared for the Futurity making Lance pretty excited for the show and the upcoming year!

Ali however, has had “Sneak” for a bit longer and has really gotten to know all of the quirks that go along with this special pony. Sneak is owned by her dad Jim Good and was trained by Tag Rice. This was the first time she has had a three-year-old for the Futurity and it certainly has shaped up to be a fantastic start! Both Ali and Lance wanted to make sure and thank everyone involved in this win and the whole experience.

Third Place was McCall Hansma riding Tommy Shelby (High Brow Cat x Little Pepto Zack) marking a 218.5 collecting a $8,247 check. She is another showman we are already so impressed with at such a young age. She came by it honest being the daughter of Paul and Julie Hansma, who are some of the very best in the business!

Senior Limited Non Pro Champion was John Baldwin riding Quickie Rey (Dual Rey x Maderas Choice) marking a 209.  John topped the Semi Finals of the Limited Non Pro earlier that day marking a 220!

It is good to see how bright the future is with such great people being raised in the sport. We want to congratulate all of the finalists and look forward to what is in store for the rest of the week!
