Another Generation of Super Cooper!
Author: Lauren Middleton
Lance Cooper let everyone know he was there Monday night in the NCHA Super Stakes Limited Open Finals! He and his great mare Zen And Tonic (High Brow CD x Dual Citizen) marked a 223 first out in the 14 horse finals. He and "Snickers" have been an unstoppable force this year in the Non-Pro and Limited Non-Pro classes but this was their first outing in the Open.

Snickers was entered in the Open here at the Lucas Oil NCHA Super Stakes with the intension being she would be shown by an Open rider. As the year went on and the pair clicked so well Lance and his dad, Michael Cooper, decided why not try it out and Lance would show her in both classes. It turned out to be a great decision and very fun to watch. The win added $7,175 to their record just to start the show out. They will continue in the Non-Pro go rounds over the next few days.
Reserve Champion was Garrett Hampton riding Merlott (Dual Rey x Uno Tassa Mia), owned by Jose Sigala, marking a 217. This was Garrett's first major event as an Open rider making this $6,469 check a very special one! He and Lance are also good friends adding another cool aspect to the mix.
