Chalmers Claims Second Win in the Big Pen

Justin Chalmers
came back this evening for his second win in the Will Rogers this time at the 2018 Metallic Cat NCHA Summer Spectacular aboard Reystylin Smooth (Smooth As A Cat x Rey N Style), owned by Eddie and Barbara Young. They marked a 220.5 to claim the Derby Limited Open Championship and the $3,313 check for the win!

Justin and the talented young stallion were late in the draw but found cows with just enough oomph to challenge them without getting themselves in hot water. It seems to always take being on the edge of defeat to grasp victory as so many of us know that compete in this sport. You have to go for it and try to be smart at the same time, a very difficult balance, but when it works it is the best feeling imaginable! Justin is no stranger to that feeling and is quickly becoming one of the top up and coming trainers in the cutting industry. Look for this duo again in the Open Derby Semi Finals this Saturday, we hope to see them head to the finals of third leg of the prestigious NCHA Triple Crown Shows!
