Mercuria Events Go Out with a Bang at the Congress

It was exciting evening last night at the 2018 All American Quarter Horse Congress! It was the perfect atmosphere for the final World Series of Cutting event with pack stands and amazing horses and riders going for it as they often do in these Mercuria Finals! This show in particular draws quite the crowd making it extra special because we get to share the sport we love with so many!

Non Pro

In the Non-Pro it was Mary Ann Rapp and Dont Stopp Believin (Dual Rey x Dont Look Twice) that claimed the Championship marking a 226! The young stallion handled the testy cows with ease and Mary Ann showed us exactly why she has won over $4,000,000 in the cutting arena! She was smart throughout the run and “Grundy” was able to showcase his unique style. The win allowed the duo to add another $9,654 to their earnings for the year!

Open

Dont Stopp Believin did it again in the Open Division marking his second 226 for the evening this time with Phil Rapp aboard! He was on fire and seemed to know exactly what the cow was going to do before it did probably! He is one of those horses that draws the cow in and builds the run himself which is just pretty amazing to watch. This win added another $11,715 to their earnings for the year to go towards the World Standings.

This event was bittersweet being the end of an era. There have been so many wonderful memories made at these cuttings over the years and some unforgettable runs put together. It was an amazing ride and we want to thank Mercuria Energy for allowing us the opportunity to be a part of and witness something truly great over the past decade. Congratulations to the Champions and finalists! We are looking forward to the World Finals at this year’s NCHA Futurity!
