NRCHA Open Snaffle Bit Futurity Results and Standings after Completion of Second Event




The NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Rein and Herd Work Prelims are complete and here is an update on the aggregate leaders in each division and top standings so far brought to you by CD Lights. The Cow work is the third and final event which is scheduled to start Monday afternoon in the John Just Arena and will decide who will advance in each division. In the Open Futurity it’s Justin Wright who has the top spot with a combined 442.5 (220.5/ Rein & 222/ Herd) aboard Mike and James Draper’s mare Shiners Diamond Cat who sired by WR This Cats Smart and out of Shiners Diamond Lady. The top 25 scores will advance to the finals currently there are 25 horses that have a 432 combined score or higher. There is a lot that can change in the fence work and there will be lots of teams just below the current bubble looking to make up ground on the leaders to earn their spot in the finals.

In the Intermediate division, there are three teams currently tied for the top spot all with a 437-aggregate score after two events. There will be 19 horses advancing to the finals in this division. Here are your leaders and top placings below:

Clay Volmer and Opus Cat Olena also lead the Limited Open Division with their 437 combined score. This division will see the top 11 horses advancing to the finals. See top placings posted below:

In the Level 1 Open division Myles Brown currently sits atop the leaderboard with 434 aboard his mare Miss Scarlets Cat (Metallic Cat x Bee Miss Scarlet) scoring a 217 in both the herd and rein work events. The Level 1 Champion will be determined after the cow work prelim based on total combined scores from all three events.

In the Ladies Division Sarah Dawson currently holds the top spot with a 434.5 (220/ Rein & 214.5/ Herd) aboard SheMerriedForNickles owned by Michelle Cannon from Cannon Quarter Horses. There are some really talented ladies competing in this division and the champion will be crowned after the cow work based on the total score from the prelims.

The Non Pro Futurity Herd Work and Rein Work are going on now and will be followed by the much anticipated third and final event of the Open prelims, the cow work, which will start on Monday afternoon.
