Fracker Brown, ridden by Chris Johnsrud for Schmitz & Brown of Gainesville, Texas, posted a 223 on Saturday to take the lead from the 221s set by Toytallic and Crey Zee in the first round of Open competition at the 2018 North Texas Chevy Dealers NCHA Futurity, presented by Great American Insurance in Fort Worth, Texas.

CR Tuff Taboo and Slooow Ride both marked 220s on Saturday for the next highest score.

Fracker Brown was bred by David Brown by Smooth As A Cat out of Jitters Brown, by Smart Little Lena. Jitters Brown was an aged-event finalist with earnings of $1,875, and she has produced earners of more than $402,000. Her top performer was Whiskeynadirtyglass ($183,978), who won Limited Open championships with Brett McGlothlin in Will Rogers Coliseum at the NCHA Super Stakes Classic and the NCHA Classic Challenge.

Jitters Brown’s second dam was Doc’s Serendipity, who was ridden by Joe Heim to place second to Peppy San Badger in the 1977 NCHA Futurity.
